The Father Teds are a
five-piece band comprising multi-talented and highly accomplished
musicians. Every musician can play both Irish and pop instruments,
enabling the band to perform completely authentic versions of all
tracks covered.
Rich McMahon is an extremely talented front man. He was raised in the Wicklow Hills and left Ireland for Birmingham UK in the mid-nineties. Rich has gained a reputation as an excellent interpreter of classic hits and popular Irish songs, all sung in his uniquely warm and versatile voice. He also writes his own songs, a selection of which has been commissioned for a feature film due to premier in Cannes this year.

Ian Reid is a superb multi instrumentalist. A member of The Birmingham Schools Orchestra as a youth, Ian is simply one of the finest Bass players working in the Midlands (and beyond) today. He also plays Banjo, Bouzouki, Whistles to a very high standard and provides fine Backing Vocals as well as being a very accomplished Sound Engineer!
Mark McCabe is the 2008-09 Midland Piano Accordion champion, Emma and Mark were also Midland Duet champions. All the playing live together has definitely helped! He is well known in Irish music circles across the UK as one of the finest ‘box’ players around. One time All Britain Champion, Mark plays superb Accordion as well as Keyboards and Piano.

Patrick Power was All Britain Champion on the Bodhran in his early teens. He is now a superb Drummer and Percussionist, Paddy is incredibly versatile and can play Drums and Percussion across a diverse range of styles. His blistering beats are sure to get a crowd in their feet and dancing.
Emma Millman is the 2007-08 Midland Fiddle champion and Duet champion with Mark and plays excellent Fiddle along with backing vocals and percussion. She learnt her traditional style of playing from Pat Molloy and developed her love of performance from time spent with Sonja O'Brien at The Boghill Centre in County Clare. Emma provides more than a little touch of glamour amongst the boys in the band!
